I'm a fifth-teen year old, currently enrolled at Thomas J. Corcoran High School, where I am a sophomore I currently take IB classes and wanted to start tutoring to pass the time and pick up a little extra cash. I'm drug free and have never tasted alcohol. I try to be patient and usually am. I'd prefer to work with children still in elementary or middle school, seeing as I haven't learned everything yet. I know the basic and more to just about everything eighth grade and below. Typically the setting in which the tutoring will take place will be my house in my dining room area and after that the student may watch television until his or her parent or guardian is there to pick them up.

LESSONS SHOULD ACCOMMODATE STUDENT LEARNING STYLES

I have 15 years of teaching experience with special needs students in a rural school district. During this time i provided private tutoring sessions for Elementary, Middle, High School and College students. At the college level my tutoring experience is with reading, writing, study skills and organization. Currently I develop educational programming for incarcerated youth.
My belief is that all students have different learning styles. Therefore lessons need to be individualized to meet student needs. A teacher can be anyone, but not everyone can be a teacher. Every child has a unique learning style and it is the job of the teacher to understand this and find the best way to teach the child. A Little Bit About Me...

I would describe my teaching style as ecclectic. Students learn in different ways which enables me to employ all kinds of methods to tap into any particular learning style. For instance, I believe in old-fashioned memorization (math. facts) in addition to hands-on kind of learning. I spent my entire teaching career at Hammondsport Central School in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York State. In that time, I taught every level of every grade (7-12).
