I have had six months of experience working in an elementary school, I took a childhood intern class. I worked with 2nd and 5th graders. I mostly helped them with reading and math subjects. There were many times I would work with the students in groups and individually. There were also times I did mini lessons teaching the whole class.

My teaching style depends upon the student I am tutoring. I totally coach the student in a manor which best befits that student. Since no two students are alike, I do what is best for each individual person. I want the students I tutor to succeed, and I love passing on the knowledge that I have, so helping the students discover for themselves new and interesting things is a joy to me. I love being able to make a difference in people's lives through knowledge. I am a retired FBI Agent, with both a Bachelor of Science and a Juris Doctorate. As an undergraduate student at Utah State University, I spent two years working as a Undergraduate Teaching Fellow, a Teacher's Assistant, and a Supplemental Instructor. I taught labs and assisted students with understanding information in the subject areas of Microbiology, Human Anatomy, and Human Physiology. I held review sessions, created tests and quizzes, and met with students individually or in groups to answer questions, review tests, or improve study habits. I love teaching because I myself am an avid learner. I have a passion for the subjects I teach and hope that I can instill this same passion in those I teach. I believe that every student can learn the information taught in class, it's more a matter of finding out how each individual student learns. I love teaching kids. All kids can are different in the way they learn. you need to be able to recognize those kids who are auditory learners, and hands on learners and be able to make a good balance of both so both kids may benefit. I like to set goals for each tutor session weather it be something like learning the alphabet or knowing you first ten multiplication facts. You then need to set one long term goal for that child to reach. this way each day they feel as if they have succeeded and learned something.
