I vary my teaching style. Some students are content with just reading while others need hands-on and visual experience. The methods of teaching I was instructed when I obtained my Bachelor in Education at the University of Akron Ohio, from 1989-1991, was the following Integrated, Whole language approach and Montessori. The method we were instructed to use in the Akron city school system was Integrated which uses basic and whole language approach language Arts. These integrated units allow us the opportunity to make sure children are learning relevant information and applying that knowledge to real life scenarios. Language Arts is what I use in all my teachings and lesson plans.

Upon graduating from Ashland University with my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, I began teaching 3rd grade at a charter school in Lorain. Soon afterwards, I started my classes to obtain my Master's Degree in Teaching and Curriculum, which I acquired in May of 2008. After 3 years of teaching I decided to take my experience to the Lorain Public Library, where I am currently employed. A Little Bit About Me...

After working in the Marketing/PR field for 5 years, I relocated to Puerto Rico to be with my husband. Not having a solid foundation of the language, I could not obtain a job in my previous field. It was at this time that I discovered the world of education. I began substitute teaching at the Department of Defense School and continued doing that for one year. We were then relocated to Savannah, GA and I was hired by a private school to teach 6th and 7th grade English, Literature and Social Studies.
