I have learned a great deal about the various learning and teaching styles. I understand that some students learn better with hands-on instruction, while others are more auditory or visual learners. I truly have a passion for spreading my love of Spanish, and teaching other students the importance of the language, and all of the interesting cultural differences and similarities we have with Hispanic countries. I also have found that rather than force grammar in as a separate lesson, it is better received if taught in a practical use manner that augments a certain vocabulary list or point. I teach according to the highest possible standards in foreign language teaching. My emphasis is on listening and speaking first and then reading and writing. I believe as an American that our children will have to know Spanish in just a few short years and I dedicate myself to that preparation. I know the grammar inside and out and am currently enrolled in ODU to take a course in intense Spanish grammar study in the fall so I can recertify.
