I believe children are most responsive when treated as intelligent individuals. I try to give my students the same respect I would want. I am very patient and calm, but I love to learn and try to instill a sense of fun and love of learning. Children learn differently, and it is important to be open to different methods of tutoring. I have found through my teaching, tutoring, and personal study that information stays better if students understand why and how things work as much as possible rather than rote memorization. I got my bachelors degree from India. My specialization was in Physics, Chemistry and Math. I am interested in chemistry and hence I enrolled into a Master's program in Chemistry and after that I worked as a chemistry lecturer in India. It gave me great pleasure to instruct students on the concepts of general and organic chemistry. Then I moved to USA and then registered at the University of North Carolina to obtain another Master's degree. I am a very hands on person, who believes that with patience each person can learn. Some people must understand that each person learns in a different way. I do not believe that people should compare one child to the next, because it is unfair.
With a BA in communications and a minor in sociology, I have an understanding in many subject areas such as, english, history, speech and media. As a graduate student I have extensive experience in writing papers and doing extensive research. I have worked as a newsroom researcher in the past. I am currently working on my graduate Thesis as well. I have experience in teaching students in elementary school up to the college level.
