I have been teaching since 2005, and doing one-on-one tutoring for just as long. I graduated with a BA in Anthropology, and an MA in Philosophy and Religion. Most of my teaching has been with children ages 10-14, though I have experience with everyone from Kindergarten to College. During my Masters, I wrote my thesis on the Philosophy of Science, and studied Ancient Archaeology in depth during my undergraduate years. I write fiction in my spare time, and have extensive experience with research and term papers. I feel comfortable and competent to teach most basic subjects and levels, though my knowledge of math tapers off after 8th grade. As a former paraprofessional with a Master's Degree in Social Work I have worked with kids in the past behaviorally and academically. I have a solid grasp of English, Grammar, Social Studies, and Mathematics. I enjoy working with children of all ages. I feel my career in social work has allowed me to become more centered on compassion as a means of education, and engaging the child in the learning process while being compassionate.
