I enjoy working with children and believe I have the qualites such as patience, perseverance, and desire to help all types of students succeed. As a graduate from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology I have gained knowledge and expertise in communicating with people, presenting information, and expressing myself in papers, essays and reports. I believe that the purpose of tutoring is to help students help themselves, or to assist or guide them to the point at which they become an independent learner. I know that the content knowledge is an essential ingredient for a tutor; however, to be truly effective, i believe a tutor must combine content knowledge with empathy, honesty and humor. I studied post secondary in high school and graduated in the top ten of my class. I was on the deans list every year of my college career.
