In addition to my Fine Art degree at Humboldt State University I earned a minor in Spanish and participated in a Spanish Language Emersion program to Parras, Mexico, where I lived with a Mexican family, attended classes full time, taught classes in English and directed the construction of a painted town mural. I also have had experience assistant teaching Art classes at the University and graduated with two years in the honors painting program. I work with students from age 2 to 82, and with all origins, cultures, and orientations. I specialize in using mental triggers to help in effective understanding and information retrieval (e.g., moving cookies on a table to demo electrical charge). I also teach with analogies to real world scenarios, using sources from around the world, and throughout history. Some problems have more than one root course, and some have coupled interactions that are difficult to isolate. I will also point out where there is more than one solution to a given problem, where management often gets to choose, based on a tradeoff between budget and warranty.
