My comments on tutoring Speaking : There is a saying that goes like this-Open your mouth so I can see you. How we speak is just as important as what we say. I have helped my students become more comfortable with their speaking, both in English and other languages. I understand the fears of public speaking. I have performed stand-up comedy. I was moderately successful. Several of my business students were complimented on their speaking skills at various conferences they were speakers at. I know I can improve the speaking skills of most people.

I’m a graduate of Oregon State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business and Marketing Education. I spent most of my working career in business, management and sales. 2009, I returned to my first love, the classroom. I’m currently a substitute teacher in the Washoe County School District, ACE Charter, and some private schools. I hope to soon have a full time teaching position, when a position becomes available. My vast experience of teaching children and young adults hasn’t been in a traditional classroom. I love helping people achieve their dreams and goals and I have high expectations for all children and adults I am teaching. As an educator I encourage my students to believe in themselves and convince them they have the ability to be successful in whatever they want to achieve. One of my students was struggling with C's and D's for grades and he was getting extra help but he was frustrated. Once or twice a week we would chat about it. I encouraged him to put forth a little more effort and I promised him his studies would get a little easier over time. A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated from University of Nevada, Reno summa cum laude. I was also my high school valedictorian. I have always excelled in school because I love learning and have great organization and study skills. Almost all of my work experience has been with students— from working as a preschool teacher to volunteering to tutor elementary school students at the Boys and Girls Club to advising high school students in the Upward Bound program to tutoring college students in the University Writing Center.
