English ESOL is one of my top subjects! I have experience teaching ESOL to Arabic-speaking orphans and women in the community of Amman, Jordan. This is one of my favorite experiences

I have a high level of experience teaching in multiple fields. I have trained horses, which takes non-verbal communication, patience, kindness, clear directions, and strong leadership skills. I have taught horseback riding lessons for 7 years, which has taught me excellent communication skills, lesson-building skills, and flexibility. I have worked as coordinator for a barn, from which I gained high-level organizational skills. I have tutored multiple people in English as a Second Language, several in America on a one-on-one basis. I taught an ESL class of five boys ages 12-14 in an orphanage on the East side of Amman, Jordan. Since each person has his or her own way of learning, I like to be creative with teaching in order to find a style that best suits the student's needs. Along with traditional teaching methods, such as worksheets and practice sheets, I like to also add a variety of activities (roleplaying, games) that keep the lesson interesting as well as encourage the student to think about the topic from a different angle, perhaps making it easier for them to understand the topic.
With the combination of my education and my work experience, I have developed a strong understanding languages and communication. I have received two Bachelor's degrees: a BA in English and a BA in German. A Little Bit About Me...

As an undergraduate student at both my junior college and university, I was inspired to spread the joy of learning and understanding English. I have earned a BA in Global Studies and Maritime Affairs, which has enabled me to expand my knowledge base about international affairs and the maritime industry. This coming March I will graduate with a MS degree in Emergency Management. This degree has given me a fantastic background in understanding leadership and management techniques. During the past four to five years I have been employed as an English tutor by both the College of the Redwoods and the California Maritime Academy.
