I love teaching Mathematics and I am very patient with my student in the learning process. I have a very hands on approach to teaching. I would first explain how the problem is answered, then explain why it is answered in that fashion. I believe it is important to understand the why a problem is answered because then they can start to understand a little more about the keys to accounting. I would then help them with different problems in order for them to fully grasp the concept.
I graduated from Fresno State in 1990 and have worked in the private sector ever since. I started out as an entry level accountant and worked my way up to Chief Financial Officer. My undergraduate degree from was a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Biology, so I have a lot of experience with writing papers and utilizing analysis skills in math and science. In addition, I spend a large portion of my time in college as a tutor for other students, particularly in subjects such as Chemistry, Economics, and Calculus. During my undergraduate schooling I taught one unit Freshman Writing Workshops at CSUMB. I also tutored extensively in English and composition. I have a minor in journalism and extensive writing experience. Professionally, I was an airline pilot for eight years. As a captain I worked in confined spaces for long periods mentoring junior pilots. I am well trained in fostering a positive learning environment.
