As a student at ITT Technical Institute, I received a hands on education in computer programming and software applications. I graduated at the top of my class, achieving Highest Honors (4.0 GPA) for Fall Qtr. 2007, Winter Qtr. 2007/2008, Spring Qtr. 2008, and Fall Qtr. 2008. I also received Honors (3.5 GPA or above) for Winter Qtr. 2008/2009. I am proficient in Visual Basic, C++, C#, Java, Java Script, .NET, Adobe Dreamweaver, and HTML/Web Scripting. While learning each programming language, I completed multiple projects and designed various small programs both individually and in a team setting. I believe that a big part of teaching is listening and observing. Not every student learns the same way, so it is important to be patient and try to understand what works best for the student. In many cases, examples are helpful in learning. Examples that are tailored to a specific student (e.g. drawing correlations to cooking for measurements, or sports for averages) can be a great basis for understanding concepts. I have done classroom teaching and one-on-one teaching. I prefer the one-on-one approach because it is so effective, and so satisfying for myself and the student when progress is made.
