My comments on tutoring Testing Skills : I have a philosophy that preparation is the foundation to anything, and that proper preparation will help anyone conquer any exam.

I have mentored various people since 2000, in all types of subjects, including math, science, social sciences, English, writing, literature, and other related subjects. My academic record is very strong, and I believe empowering those I work with every single time. The only pre-requisites are that you have to be willing to learn, and learn how to learn.
I like to use the Socratic method, mainly by asking questions and challenging assumptions. In addition, I like to engage those I teach, challenging them to think about what they previously have not considered. I believe in building on successes, and offering constructive criticism, where appropriate.

I grew up in Jamaica and my formal years of education were under the british system. This sytem was very student friendly and much emphasis was placed on learning and not testing. I have earned a Bachelors degree double major in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of the West Indies Jamaica. A Little Bit About Me...

As a veteran teacher of thirty years, I have much to offer in the educational setting. I taught language arts in 7th and 8th grade for 21 years and in 2nd and 3rd or 9 years. Through teaching language arts, I have many areas covered to help in tutoring of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and editing papers.
Teaching has been my life. All children learn in different ways and there are many ways of teaching the same concept to get the student to understand. I feel that some children need to be away from the stresses sometimes experienced at school in order to discover their academic gifts.
