After having lived in Germany, teaching ESL in a middle school, I returned to the United States to teach in the Irving Independent School District in Irving, Texas. During that time I taught German, French and Spanish to middle and high school students. Not all people learn in the same manner. It's important to recognize clues that identify preferred learning styles and incorporate lesson plans accordingly. I believe in breaking things into its simplest form using analogies to help with learning and retention. I believe it is not only important to teach the curriculum, but to also relate the benefits of learning into (age appropriate) real-life lessons. I have been a teacher/professor and Dean of a University for 15 years. I got my BS in Life Sciences and one year of MS in Molecular Genetics. I continued on to get my MBA. I have taught English, Math, Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Business courses and other science courses.

After 33 years of trial law, I decided to teach full time. I have taught various classes off and on since 1972. I have tutored students for the last two years, including 15 middle school english and math students this last year in Hernando County. I also helped these students with science, geography, and social sciences. I now live in Tampa.
All children can learn if properly motivated. I use a modified socratic method of teaching, engaging the child in a dialogue about the subject matter. We explore together using books and the internet to find answers. All of my students improved in their school work in a dramatic fashion. Some saw their grades jump as much as 60%.
