A Little Bit About Me...

I love being able to teach someone something new. I love learning, but have always been a visual learner, so whether I'm teaching someone how to read, or simply helping them improve their reading skills, I introduce visual aids. I am patient, easy going and a great listener. When it comes to teaching/tutoring/mentoring, I have always been very hands on. I strive to create an environment where the pupil feels comfortable and he or she is excited to learn.
I graduated Cum Laude from Manhattan College with a double major in Psychology and Communications. In addition to studying for two majors, I was also a Division 1 athlete and held 2 jobs. A Little Bit About Me...

As a special education teacher with 20+ years experience, I continue to be a dedicated professional desiring to tutor special needs and at-risk students. Previous experiences include teaching in private preschool, elementary, middle and high schools. Also, I taught public school students in a self-contained/vocational class; math, science, history, and language arts were taught, applying skills to adult life. Consulting in private and parochial schools, I taught all required academic skills in both middle and high school levels. Thus, my teaching experience covers toddlers to high school seniors. A Little Bit About Me...

I very much enjoy teaching both children and young adults. It gives me great satisfaction in helping others achieve a higher level of knowledge and skills. In addition, I feel that tutoring is a two-way street, whereby both the student learns material from the tutor, while at the same time the tutor learns how to better present the material in a way that is conducive for the student's learning.
