I hold an honor's degree in marine biology and a masters degree in marine renewable energy. I have a strong scientific background performing environmental studies and development of marine tidal energy developments. I have previously privately tutored young adults from 12-18 years old. Whilst working towards my masters degree i was employed as a student ambassador with Plymouth University; trusted to teach and promote higher education to schools and colleges around England.

A Little Bit About Me...

My experience as a non-traditional student has payed huge dividends not only for me, but for those I've helped during my time as a T.A. and tutor. Ten years after I finished high school I decided to begin my collegiate career. The process of learning, re-learning and brushing up on the hard sciences and mathematics has proved to provide a good background from which to explain and help others in those areas. My pursuit (and recent success) of becoming a student doctor has also allowed me to become a well rounded tutor. Depending on the age of child but especially thinking of biology and chemistry classes I think it is valuable to teach the person how to create different activities with the subject matter to learn the material. It is important to know that people learn different ways and have different needs when it comes to learning.
I have a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in microbiology and zoology with a minor in chemistry. For the past 10 years I have worked in the science industry in many facets. Many facets only because I was trying to decide what I wanted to go graduate school for only to decide not to go once I was accepted. I have gained experience in the biotech industry working with RNA, in the newborn screening laboratory for the state health department working with recessive diseases. I am now a clinical reagent application specialist for Waters Corporation.
