Everything in life has a Sign! What is you sign?

I started learning sign language when I was eight years old. I became friends with a boy who was deaf, we grew up together. I then went on to complete my degree in American Sign Language from Bishop State. After Bishop State, i moved on to atten the University of South Alabama for elementary education. I interpret every year at Bayfest. This is a great experience, it is fun and exciting. I have a youtube account and a blog site I use for sign language. I also have books and videos all materials needed to learn the language.
I am hands on and easy going. I make learning fun, the people I have tutored in the past have truly learned and remembered everything I have shown them. I find easy funny ways to remember things.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that a teacher should be willing to do whatever is necessary for the student to understand the concept(s) being discussed. Students all learn different things in different ways. I have taught a wide range of students both in ages and in ethic backgrounds. I believe that any subject can be taught and understood in taught in a fashion best understood my the student.
I have worked both as a substitute teacher and as a certified teacher for around 15 years. I have taught a variety of different courses. I was certified to teach all sciences grades 7-12. However my certification has expired. I have taught both in the private and public sectors of education. I graduated a member of Kappa Delta Pi, as an international honor society. Following the birth of my third child, I taught at her pre-school and caught the teaching "bug". I then completed a graduate program in Elementary Education, taught for one year in the public school system in Florida and then taught for one year in Alabama. I have the ability to help children struggling in reading to make great strides and as a result, gain the self-confidence to do well in school.
