I received my English degree in the spring of 2011. I stayed at Purdue University, completing my Student Teaching in the fall of 2011. I received my certification to be a Secondary English Teacher in Jan of 2012 and have kept it up to date since. I started substitute teaching when I was in undergraduate school just as a source of income and because I like teaching. My mother is a retired teacher who taught for over 30 years. I work as an engineer but I always find time to tutor. I have tutored with an SES program and have found that this worked really well. Focusing on how the children learn as a method to approach how they should be tutored is very effective and the children learn.
