A Little Bit About Me...

I believe the best learning occurs when both a discrete point and holistic approach are used interactively. I like to break down the concepts into small steps which then fit together into a well-designed staircase leading up to the higher levels. I am exigent in my expectations, but relaxed and patient in my personal nature.
After living in Spain and learning Spanish as a teenager, I accelerated quickly in the Spanish language and literature program, later going on into the Master's program. I earned my first teaching credential in California where I taught for several years before moving to Missouri.

Throughout high school and college, I performed at an academic level well above average. As a result, I often found myself helping my fellow students. As part of my graduate assistantship at Missouri State, I work in the math tutoring lab several hours a week, tutoring (primarily) algebra and calculus students. As a college student I began to narrow my focus and realize my love of teaching English as a Second Language.
