The Achievement Centers, our after school tutorial/diagnostic clinic and before and after school care, is available for all ages and subjects. Tutoring and diagnostic testing is available after school, evenings (Monday – Friday) and Saturday mornings. The clinic is available year-round. Our testing clinician and school psychologist offer a Psychoeducational Evaluation to all new students. The majority of my tutoring experience took place at Northern Illinois University from 2007 to 2008. There I worked in the NIU Writers’ Workshop, tutoring freshman students with assignments from their English classes. I worked with the same students each week (usually one or two at a time for 50 minutes) on both personal narratives and research papers. Generally, I'm a constructivist, and I believe the best method of tutoring is providing a completely individuated scaffold for any student.
