My comments on tutoring Drawing : I have been drawing all my life. I focus more on abstract art and some realism. I also know other styles of mark making other than the use of graphite on paper.

I like to give a hands on demonstration and then offer support and constructive criticism to those who are learning. Art should be fun and an extended expression of the individual wanting to learn more about it.
I have been an artist since day one of my existence. I followed my passion for art throughout my educational career and pursued a Bachelors of Fine arts from San Jose State University. My first visit is just an assessment of where the student began to get lost regardless of the age or level. More often that not, they have to memorize their fractions to decimal to percentage conversion from 1/2 to 1/12. Given this underlying knowledge allows me to focus on the subject at hand. I usually recommend purchasing a Spark Notes or something similar for the subject as a reference guide. I use examples from the book to review, and assist in homework. I do not do the homework for them, however, do ask how they will approach it before diving in. I add tips and tricks and different ways to approaching the problem. I also assist in anxiety control, study and organization habits.
