I utilize a very structured teaching style that usually utilizes a lot of examples and visual aides. It also takes getting to know your student and what they best respond to. I'm a very no nonsense kind of teacher and do not allow my students to veer off track in the middle of sessions. Teaching and connecting with middle school students is very different than with high school students, but no less beneficial. Because I was fortunate enough to receive an education, I always felt compelled to give back to the community in the same way. From my years at Summerbridge (now Breakthrough Miami), I tutored elementary and middle school students in math, literature, English, science, and history. I like teaching all ages, they all have something to offer and require a different style. I am very patient and like to teach through the basics. I myself don't rely on memorizing formulas, that gets you no where, but understanding the fundamentals behind the formulas is where to gain knowledge.
