I am 23 years old and strive for excellence constantly. I currently have two jobs and a child. I work hard for my family and make sure that I do my best in everything that is put in front of me. I have many ways of teaching. I like to make the experience rewarding, fun and educational. I came to teaching as a second career when I realized I was not happy in local politics. I earned a degree in Secondary Education with English certification grades 5-12. I have taught in rural as well as urban schools and schools in between. I have a strong command of grammar and reading comprehension skills. I have lead students in debate teams as well.
I am very straightforward in my style. I really enjoy doing things my way and seeing how the student responds. If the response is not positive then I modify and try again until we get it right. I am very much an auditory person myself so I am very verbal and love to talk things through.

Laid back, but encouraging.If a child is struggling, I don't think you should add fear and criticism to the situation. Having had Catholic nuns in all my grammer school days, pretty much put the "fear of God" into me, until I went on to public high school and college. then I was able to relax and embrace english and literature.
My BA degree was in Speech & Theatre. Who would have known that a shy kid like me would have excelled in public speaking, english, and theatre. I love the English language, even though I've had classes in French and Spanish. I started school when I was 4 years old (too early), and all my grade school years was challanged with education. Now that I am an adult, I feel that I have the experience to help children understand and find it easier to learn English and grammer, sentence writing, composition writing, essays, etc.
