My comments on tutoring Chemistry : Essential class that is encompassed in most sciences.

I have always approached a teaching lesson as a learning opportunity. Learning is a fundamental skill. If you don't have your basic fundamentals, your student will have difficulty advancing. So, I always start with basic fundamentals such as; note taking, study skills, and comprehension! All sciences demand the ability to link concepts together. Ex. cells make up tissues, tissues make up organs, organs make up organ systems,etc.....! By understanding the make-up of cellular structures and relating that to tissue functions the students can fully understand a subject. This proves true with all subjects. By impowering the student with good base fundamentals, my students find it easier to link concepts together.

Completing my High School Mathematics Education - 2013 Have completed Calculus I-III Statistics Linear Alegebra Geometry (regular and Euclidian) I will be completing my education this year and qualify for student teaching in the Spring of 2014. My comments on tutoring Chemistry : Two college Chem courses

I was raised on a farm in Iowa and attended school there until I was 13. In Zephyrhills, Fl, I was awarded valedictorian status for the class of '09. At Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University of Daytona Beach, Fl, I am a senior in the Accelerated Master's of Science in Engineering Physics degree program. This is a rigorous five-year program and is focused upon the engineering and physics involved in space systems. I remain in the Honor's Program and on the Dean's List. My teaching style involves a lot of examples and having the student answer the questions on the board. I am able to come up with examples off the top of my head and have the student work through the problem to prevent "dumb" mistakes (such as forgetting a minus sign). I am very patient and allow my students as much time as possible and encourage them to ask whenever they are stuck. I try to show that math can be fun and interesting and that there are applications out in the real world.
I began tutoring math for Stetson University which ranged from Algebra 1 to Calculus 2. I then began tutoring privately and I have tutored lower level math and advanced statistics. I have tutored a student who was failing calculus in class but then they earned the highest possible grade on the standardized test. I also have a degree in mathematics.

I graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with a B.S. in chemistry; then I turned down Harvard to attend Columbia University. My first experience teaching was as a Drug Education Counselor. In this position I educated children in grades kindergarten through fourth grade in a classroom setting. My formal education includes a B.S. degree in Chemistry and an M.S. in Chemical Engineering both from Purdue University. I enjoy teaching and took the opportunity to serve as a Chemistry T.A. (teacher's assistant) as an undergraduate. My master's program also included teaching Chemical Engineering classes to undergraduates. During my career with Eastman Kodak and Vertis, I have been involved with technical training of software applications and processes.
