My comments on tutoring Social Studies : Have taken college level classes in World History and Government and covered most of the sub sets taught at High School level.

As a Graduate of Saginaw Valley State University, I have obtained a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and Minors in Math and Biology. I have gained knowledge in most of the sub-sets on those subjects as well as High School or College entry level in most other academic subjects. I have tutored before as a volunteer, in paid sessions, and have often helped out friends at various educational levels.

I am a retired teacher with over 38 years of teaching both children and adults with diverse backgrounds. I have a BA and Masters degree in Education with an endorsement in ESL/Bilingual Education. My comments on tutoring Social Studies : I have my degree from Saginaw Valley State University in English and History. I have taught history classes before including American and World History. Within that I have had experience with Geography.

I have my teaching degree in English and History from Saginaw Valley State University and have done my student teaching at Skeels Christian Schools where my class sizes ranged from thirteen to six students. I am used to a more one-on-one teaching experience and have taught every grade in middle and high school.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have seven years teaching experience in various grades. These experiences have been in either a public or parochial school setting. While working in these schools I have worked as director of a whole school Christmas program, MEAP coach instructor, after-school teacher, and have gone through a thirty-five hour training to learn and implement conscious discipline. My duties have also involved scheduling and planning activities and lessons for multi-cultural and diverse classrooms, attending informational workshops, and managing the daily activities of kindergarten through fifth graders. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style would be to find the student's primary learning style and converting the information he or she needs into a format that fits that learning style. Each subject would be made as visible or concrete as possible, so that the student could interact with the material on more than just a visual/conceptual level. Showing the student how the material can relate to real-life situations and opportunities would be a vital part of the instruction.
After high school, I recognized in myself a desire to work with elementary- and high school-aged children.
