My experience working with children has been great! I have worked with children as young as six weeks and as old as ten years old. Teaching and Tutoring children is one thing that I love to do. I tutor in all subjects. I have taught in all subjects. Not only in school settings but in homes also. I have also experienced teaching children with behavioral problems and children with disabilities and learning disabilities. I teach and tutor any form or fashion child. As a caregiver for my two nephews and one niece I feel that I am very qualified to work with children. Since moving back to Memphis I have been very involved in their education and upbringing. I graduated from Dillard University in New Orleans, La., where I was a tutor for the Saturday Science Academy. In the program, I was responsible for following a strict lesson plan designed to prepare the students for the yearly LEAP Exam, which is equivalent to the Memphis City School's TCAP. I focused on students in grades fourth and fifth in mathematics and reading comprehension. Upon my time spent at Dillard University and the programs existance the scores of students involved in the program increased tremendously from previous years. As a Delta State University alum, it does my heart joy to be able to give back to my community. While at Delta State, I earned a bachelors degree in Exercise Science and minored in Nutrition. I went on to work as an Abstinence Coordinator for a non-profit organization, Youth Opportunities Unlimited, Incorporated. I taught children and teens various awareness topics. After a year of working with Y.O.U., I was offered a teaching position at the Quitman County Elementary School. I have been there for the past three years.
