I am beginning my 14th year of teaching. I have taught from 3rd to 6th grade, with a heavy focus on Reading and Language. I also taught Adult Literacy classes and have worked as the Reading Specialist at our school which involved working with teachers on best practice in Reading Instruction. I missed my "babies" and went back into the classroom and have never looked back. I also taught the 4 modes of writing to our 5th graders in order to prepare them for The Alabama Direct Assessment of Writing. I have a calm, loving environment in my classroom. I have a 4.0 grade point average, and studied for one semester at Oxford University in England. I love English, writing, and teaching, and I love helping students understand my favorite subjects!
