I have many years of experience with the Deaf and Deaf/blind. Interpreting experience and have much exposure in the deaf world. The love I have for the ASL started when I was vary young because of the relationship I had with my aunt . My aunt was both deaf and blind I remember her sitting alone when we had family diners and gatherings. When learning the language some in my family were shocked and even taken aback at my efforts. I excelled in grammar, art, health, and science as well. I was a teacher at a private school for a year after college before I started a family and began home schooling. My daughter is now in the 8th grade and tests at the college level in reading and high school levels at most other subjects. I have a daughter in the 8th grade and a son in the 6th. Although I have been self employed for the last 6 years, I went back to school last year to add Science and Math for middle school to my certification. I passed the Praxis for both of those subjects spring of 2010. I was not able to get a full time teaching position this year. I went back to working for myself but would love to tutor.
