My comments on tutoring French : I know the basics to the French Language, I have taken French for 5 years and I passed my AP Exam with a 3.

I teach in many ways through a book or how I was taught by my teachers. I am open-minded and try to figure out what is the best way to teach a person I am trying to help.
I am currently finishing my first year in college. I have a High School diploma and an award as an AP Scholar. I enjoy math and I am passing my DS-71 math course with an A at Fresno State. I have recently declared my second major in teaching mathematics. In college, I am ahead by a semester since I transferred over 36 units for my degree.

It seems to me that everyone can learn, in different ways and at different times. My approach is to have several options of which approach will be successful. Being a 1:1 teacher allows me the freedom and time to work with a student on a concept in a number of ways until the cognition sets in for him. Being enthusiastic and excited about the learning experience is contagious. I always think about the teachers who were indifferent compared to the ones who were animated. I am definitely animated, excited, and enthusiastic. I believe in combining visual, tactile, and aural whenever possible.

I am a very down to earth person especially when it comes to kids. I always try to lighten up the mood and make learning things interesting and fun. I don't like to dismiss when I see a child having trouble in something. Every person has a different way of learning, I try to cater to each of their needs.
I have tutored children in reading last summer. It was one of the most gratifying things I have done. I worked with English as second language children ranging from ages 5 to 13. We used a lesson plan and several activities to help children in achieving their reading level goals. Also, in my undergrad experience, I excelled in writing and was very good with meeting deadlines.
