I went to public schools in East Detroit, Michigan. In eighth grade I set a personal goal to attend the University of Michigan. I never had private tutors. My strongest subject is math. Mr Learmont, my junior high school history teacher would frequently say, "Take care of these books and these books will take care of you." It was that inspiration that raised me to love learning and in turn teaching others.

A Little Bit About Me...

My experience in education has been wide and full of variety. I began working as a linguistics tutor for the university. I worked with several students over the course of the two years in which I worked for the department. I began my field work at Mt. Morris Junior High School performing my observations. I completed my student teaching at Lapeer West High School, before graduating with a BA in Secondary Education. There, I taught English 12, Mythology, and, perhaps most beneficial to my experience, Literacy Skills, where I was able to work with many students with diverse reading and age levels. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a life long learner and interested in several different areas of study. During my BS degree, I majored in Biology and minored in mathematics and earned a teaching certificate. Then I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree. I developed and taught a “Business for Doctors” class at three different colleges. I also enjoyed maintaining my private practice. I then became an Executive Director of Education & Training for a Louisiana corporation. I wrote instructional manuals for company owned and franchise clinics and presented training seminars. I earned a MA degree in Guidance & Counseling & became a high school counselor. My primary goal has been to be an advocate for the students and teach them how to learn.
