A Little Bit About Me...

I received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in political science in 2009. I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I am now working on my Master's in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I worked as an English tutor for international students at the University of Findlay from 2007-2009. I also tutored college students in Spanish in the fall of 2009. I have also tutored elementary school students in English. I studied Spanish in Mexico and Arabic in Jordan. My strongest subjects are Spanish, English (writing, reading, grammar), and social studies (geography and government). I received a 28 on the ACT and I can help those who are preparing to take it except for the math and science portion of the exam.

I believe that no two students learn alike and the most important thing is to make sure students are having fun with learning. If learning is looked at as boring or hard students will try to avoid it, when learning is fun students learn without realising the work involved. I am willing to try a new tactic with every new task and am always learning myself. As someone new to the education field I am always researching new ideas in the education field.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love helping others with Spanish and I believe that there is no right way to help kids along in the language. Everyone is different. Personally I improved immensely after volunteering as a translator in a free clinic for migrants. Speaking with native speakers was very beneficial for me. I could not have come to that point however without a lot of hard work and studying.
