A Little Bit About Me...

I grew up in a household that valued education and creative learning. As a result, I have always been driven to do my very best in all subject areas. I officially started tutoring in 2002, at Southwest Minnesota State University. My initial subjects were Algebra and Finite Math. Since then, I have tutor in a number of subject including English, vocabulary, basic Science(s) and Social Studies. I have worked with students of every age from those just starting at 3 and 4 years of age, to more non-traditional students over 50 years of age. I have taught children, high-school students, college students, and most recently, adults. Besides my experience working with people of all ages, I have also worked with many different cultures and skill levels. My exposure to teaching people with such diverse backgrounds has been very rewarding and has given me a more well-rounded teaching style. I am skilled at adjusting lessons to maximize the student's learning. This is especially useful when tutoring because, unlike teaching a large group of students, tutoring allows for more flexibility and custom tailoring of a lesson.
