I have tutored many friends and family throughout highschool and college and my teaching methods have spoke for themselves. I like to teach at that learners pace and let them start what they are good at and develop their knowledge from there. I am very active in answering questions and like to be a visual teacher since I am a visual person. I like to take a step by step approach to math and accounting because that is the easiest way to learn. Once in a classroom I realized that I was meant to teach. I love working with students who are challenging and those who challenge me. I believe that I can become a better teacher only by continually challenging myself and my students. The key phrase “engaging students” seems less than what is required in the classroom. I want my students to be engaged but I want them to encompass and enjoy what they are doing as well. I love technology and new method topics; I have a very strong math and science background as well as excellent written and verbal presentation skills. To serve students in a tutorial setting, I first determine a student's current level of understanding. As specific gaps in understanding are identified, targeted instruction is used to fill in those gaps. Many times work on fundamental concepts or mechanics is required to achieve true and lasting success in the content area. Students that are willing to complete the foundational work I will leave them with based on their identified weaknesses, will develop the fastest and improve their skills and confidence. A Little Bit About Me...

I recently earned a BS in studio art and my interests extend into math, sciences, and reading. This desire for knowledge spurred me to begin a second major in chemistry, enabling me to continue my math and science courses. Additionally I have an associates degree in graphic design. I tutored chemistry at the college level, and have helped my younger siblings with their middle school and high school homework. I have also assisted with elementary age students for years.
