I love to teach. I have experience with 5-50 years old and, if pressed, could not name a favorite group. I believe that everyone can learn; some of us just process information in different ways. As a tutor it is my job to discover how a student processes information and adapt my lesson to accommodate them. Learning can be both fun and serious, as long as it is productive.

Both my education and work experience lend themselves to this position as reading tutor. In school, I worked with all ages in relation to my museum studies coursework, to better understand historic events, places, eras, and people. In designing museum programming and educational initiatives, I worked with young children up to senior adults in the process. A Little Bit About Me...

As a student, I had the chance to participate in the Americorps program, where I developed and implemented programs for at-risk youth. My programs encompassed but were not limited to, ecology, animal husbandry, writing, reading, and the arts. Since then I have earned two bachelor's degrees, a BA in Education, and a BA in Elementary Education, with minors in communications and liberal arts.
Teaching comes naturally to me; I believe that everyone has the potential to be successful, given the right opportunity. Persistence, mutual admiration, and effort are the qualities that I bring with me, and they are all that I ask of the students that I work with. My goal is to make learning less of a duty and more of a stimulating quest, so that I may leave my students with the inspiration to continue learning throughout their lives.
