I am relaxed, calm, and patient when tutoring. I use graphical, verbal and/or written methods dependent on the skill set and approach that is best for each student. I believe that every student has an innate ability to learn. It is the tutor's job to find out the approach that will yield the best results with each individual student.
I graduated with my Master's in Chemical Engineering in 1985 and have used that experience and my life experience to excel at the tutoring that I have done over the last 15+ years. I have tutored all levels of mathematics, high school and college Chemistry and SAT/ACT preparation and study. My education has been invaluable to my ability to help students excel.

I have currently earned a bachelors degree, BS Physics, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. While doing research I was able to learn more in the areas of biology and math, while also taking biology classes at a community college in San Diego. In addition, I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers and laboratory reports, along with essays in many various areas of study. During the last seven years I have tutored students in mathematics and sciences as well as done light amounts of teaching classes in both areas.
I feel as an educator it is always important to learn from the students before you can teach them. A Little Bit About Me...

While studying Physics at Iowa State University, I first discovered my love for teaching and tutoring and have been doing it almost continuously since then. I worked for the ISU Academic Success Center helping groups of 1-4 students learn calculus and calculus-based physics for 3 semesters. They always left my sessions understanding the subject better and gave me the highest reviews possible. Later, after briefly attending grad school, I went to Mexico and taught for a year. In my time there, I worked at both a private language school and as a 9th grade teacher at a private school. During this time, I learned a great deal about the English language as well as how to run a small class. Since returning to the US, I have also tutored my cousins in Spanish and ACT preparation.
