I have always enjoyed studying science, especially Biology. I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology in 2001. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored many colleagues in various subjects. I also precepted an upper division Plant Genetics course during my junior year. I assisted the Teaching Assistant with experimental set-ups and held office hours so I could meet with students to go over course material in preparation for exams. I have spent my 13 years as an educator in a variety of capacities. I spent four years as a tutor for an autistic child while I was in school. After receiving my bachelor’s degree in education, I worked for three years as the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade alternative school teacher for the Chandler Unified School District. I then worked part-time as the curriculum writer for a residential alternative facility, also opening and teaching in their middle school program. Following that experience, I spent two years teaching Title 1 English at a middle school. I currently own and operate my own business, earning my master’s of education in the process.

As part of my lifelong love of learning and teaching, I began tutoring when I was just fourteen years old. While in high school, I usually tutored math (mostly algebra, geometry, and trigonometry) and general science. Once I moved to college, I began to work with middle school as well as high school students again in mostly math and science. However, I have a BA in politics and history; therefore I am extremely confident in many liberal arts subjects. I have also earned an MBA which helped to hone my grammatical and communication skills. As a special education teaching assistant I have tutored every level of education with the exception of adults. I am Cpr and first aid certified, as well as CPI certified. A Little Bit About Me...

As a student, I had the chance to participate in the Americorps program, where I developed and implemented programs for at-risk youth. My programs encompassed but were not limited to, ecology, animal husbandry, writing, reading, and the arts. Since then I have earned two bachelor's degrees, a BA in Education, and a BA in Elementary Education, with minors in communications and liberal arts.
Teaching comes naturally to me; I believe that everyone has the potential to be successful, given the right opportunity. Persistence, mutual admiration, and effort are the qualities that I bring with me, and they are all that I ask of the students that I work with. My goal is to make learning less of a duty and more of a stimulating quest, so that I may leave my students with the inspiration to continue learning throughout their lives.
