A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with my Master's in Chemical Engineering in 1985 and have used that experience and my life experience to excel at the tutoring that I have done over the last 15+ years. I have tutored all levels of mathematics, high school and college Chemistry and SAT/ACT preparation and study. My education has been invaluable to my ability to help students excel.
I am relaxed, calm, and patient when tutoring. I use graphical, verbal and/or written methods dependent on the skill set and approach that is best for each student. I believe that every student has an innate ability to learn. It is the tutor's job to find out the approach that will yield the best results with each individual student.

I have always enjoyed studying science, especially Biology. I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology in 2001. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored many colleagues in various subjects. I also precepted an upper division Plant Genetics course during my junior year. I assisted the Teaching Assistant with experimental set-ups and held office hours so I could meet with students to go over course material in preparation for exams. I obtained my PhD in Pharmacology and Cancer Biology in 2008. During my graduate studies, I mentored four graduate students and two undergraduates during their tenure in our laboratory. During my postdoctoral fellowship, I mentored a community college biotechnology student. She had decided to pursue her BS in Molecular and Celllular Biology at the University of Arizona. Any tutors goal is to guide a child to a learning experience within that childs comfort zone. An educator, with a calm and patient demeanor can lead a child to their goal. Laughter and discovery are the heart of educating any student. My goal is to lead a student to his or her potential.
As a special education teaching assistant I have tutored every level of education with the exception of adults. I am Cpr and first aid certified, as well as CPI certified. I tutored in ELL for two years in all basic educatiion subjects. I am currently employed by Marana High School/Special Educaation. I haave tutored math, english, science, social studies, and computer educaation.
