I changed from being a registered pharmacist to teaching because I so enjoy seeing students learn, especially when they "get it". I had to be especially aware that online students require a different learning paradigm than on-campus F2F students. I would give as much time as needed to an interested student. A Little Bit About Me...

In my own experience, the key to learning has been to find a "critical link:" that is, to figure out an angle that makes sense to my brain. It is one thing to be exposed to a subject, and another to understand, remember and easily employ what is learned. Everybody thinks differently, so the key is to discuss and explore the topic with a student until you see that they've experienced that "aha" moment. This is why tutoring is so important, in my opinion. This is the core of the approach I take to tutoring my peers, presenting ideas to professors, and to teaching younger students.
