A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and working with all children. I prefer a one on one setting and use positive constructive teaching methods. I am a good listener and have a lot of patience. I enjoy watching others learn and am good at picking up nonverbal cues. I have the ability to keep my students interested in their subject matter.
I have many years of experience working with various age groups teaching and training a variety of activities. I spent a year and half of my college career studying Elementary Education before switching to Psychology. During that time I worked with students at our on campus elementary school Greenwood Laboratory. While working for the Park Board I had the opportunity to assist students K-5 with homework, recreation, fundamentals of sports and getting them to use their creative minds.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a Special Education teacher by education and by choice. My teaching style is one that can be changed at any time to answer the learning style of a student. I am a hands-on, multiple teaching style person because I know that students do not learn by using just one learning style. If I said that I just had one teaching style, then I would only be teaching to one type of student and that is detrimental to all students. I love teaching and working with all ages of students and I communicate with parents and other teachers directly and collaboratively.
I have taught Special Education for the last 12 years from grades k-12. I have four years experience in High School, seven years in elementary and one year as a special education director. I love to work with children and help them learn. I want to help each child achieve to the very best of their ability and reach their full potential. I am very patient and considerate of others. I am a firm believer in showing respect to students. I feel if you show the students respect and understanding, it will be shown to me. Children have different learning styles and I will do everything I can to help them learn in the way that is easiest for them.
