I was born in Germany; after highschool I attended a two-year business school in Germany. Since 1967 I have lived in the United States;I am fluent in the German language. I attended RN school in Jackson, MI, and have been employed as a RN for the past 24 years.For the first 29 years I resided in the state of Michigan; I then moved to Georgia. My teaching style with my own children is conversational, hands-on, and intuitive. I explore what most captures their attention, then weave in the lessons by using any available teaching aids, such as whiteboard drawings, to illustrate a point, literally.
My German parents spoke (so-called "high", or proper) German at home in NY/NJ, which came in handy after we moved overseas when I was 13. Repeating 7th grade, I learned to read and write German fluently, as well as master the local dialects and sundry colloquialisms without a lingering accent. Doing so allowed me mask my heritage, enroll in higher education, and learn a trade, culminating in a long and rewarding all-encompassing painting career abroad and in the eastern US, before settling in Texas to explore telecommunications. I widely regard the world as a large classroom/laboratory.

One needs to be patient, calm, listening but firm when working with children, qualities that I have developed throughout years of experience. I used to tutor students as a part time activity, having a participative approach, as all children have different ways of learning. My teaching style is about action and about the learner actively learning through multiple stimuli. I understand that people have a tendency to learn via seeing, hearing, or doing, and I combine all three while at the same time tailoring the approach to individual needs. I am extremely positive and energetic and love inspiring learners. Often times, to learn about a particular subject, a teacher must first assess what topic--no matter what the topic--stimulates the student, and then proceed to teach the subject at hand via the subject that stimulates the student.
