Florida Writes Tutoring
The Florida Writing Assessment was implemented in grades 4, 8, and 10 as required by a law passed by the 1990 legislature. Does your student need a tutor? The best way to teach writing is to engage students in the writing process. This recursive process includes planning, writing, revising, and editing.
As students become more proficient, the amount of time spent on each step in the process may shorten, and the necessity for teacher involvement should lessen. Florida Writes can be challenging. Make a difference with a tutor today.

Anu C - Ooltewah, TN 37363 (4.5 mi) - Florida Writes Tutor - $38.00/hr.
I love educating all children in order to achieve their long term life goals. I am patient, friendly and easy to get along with. I can make learning enjoyable and more easy. I will make sure my student understands the material very well in way that he/she is able to teach another student or even me. I have earned a bachelors degree in Chemistry from East Tennessee State University. I have more than 100 hours of volunteer experience in all fields of area due to being in organizations like Alpha Phi Omega, Phi Sigma Pi and President's Pride throughout my college career.
I believe I'm qualified to teach computers because I use it everyday and know basically most of all the Microsoft Office. English/LA and Social Studies probably not as qualified but I know the basics, if I did not I would not have a Bachelor's degree right now.

David M - Chattanooga, TN 37421 (8.4 mi) - Florida Writes Tutor - $41.00/hr.
I have had the opportunity to help students both in a one-to-one and a small group setting. I quickly learn the student's learning abilities and the areas that need improvement. I use kinetic, visual, and auditory teaching methods. Since I have been tutoring at all levels and in most subjects for eight years, I have insight for where a student is and where the student wants and needs to be. I truly enjoy all aspects of education and have been a teacher at a number of levels and in different cities for eight years. I have taught students in K-12 as well as in college/university. My teaching and tutoring experience has been both one-on-one and small group settings. I have a B.S. in Political Science and History as well as multiple Masters degrees and a Ph.D. in ancient languages, literature, and history. In the last few years, I have tutored in three states (TX, KY, and FL), and two countr

Over the course of the past 10 years I have spent time working with students struggling to develop their academic skills, particularly in the areas of language arts and the social studies. From my initial work as a foster care academic transitions liaison,to the attainment of my M.ED., my broad service as a classroom teacher, department chair and A.P. program coordinator, I have been fortunate to work with students from across the broadest possible ability spectrum and have learned to sow the seeds of confidence and success in learners of all competency and motivational levels. Due to my experience with a broad range of young learners, each working at a different academic and or cognitive pace, I follow a modified Socratic approach to both my classroom and one on one instruction by placing the emphasis on the student as we identify areas for growth. I then sculpt an academic program that

Lynda E - Dalton, GA 30721 (18.1 mi) - Florida Writes Tutor - $38.00/hr.
As primarily a middle grades teacher, I have 33 years of classroom experience and 25 years of private tutoring. My basic focus has been 6th grade math and the education of ESOL students. I hold 2 degrees in elementary eduction and an ED. Specialist in Administration/Supervision. The classroom has always been preferred, even though I hold a degree in Adminstration. I am the true success story that education does lead you out of proverty, having come from a migratory farm-worker background in a rural agriculture county in central Florida. I believe in basic teaching with practice, and feedback. The differeniation of individual learning styles is always taken into consideration. My primary focus has been on 6th grade math and pre-algebra and having students understand the step-by-step process so they can not only know where the are, but where they are going and where they have been in math
