Experience Summary
As primarily a middle grades teacher, I have 33 years of classroom experience and 25 years of private tutoring. My basic focus has been 6th grade math and the education of ESOL students. I hold 2 degrees in elementary eduction and an ED. Specialist in Administration/Supervision. The classroom has always been preferred, even though I hold a degree in Adminstration. I am the true success story that education does lead you out of proverty, having come from a migratory farm-worker background in a rural agriculture county in central Florida.
Teaching Style
I believe in basic teaching with practice,and feedback. The differeniation of individual learning styles is always taken into consideration. My primary focus has been on 6th grade math and pre-algebra and having students understand the step-by-step process so they can not only know where the are, but where they are going and where they have been in mathematic skills. Working with ESOL students of many cultures has been a plus and has been a great part of my education focus when teaching English. I do not speak a second language, but have the necessary skills to help students that speak a different language as their first language.
