I started substitute teaching in 1983 while I was working on my Master's Degree at California State University, Long Beach. I have been a substitute teacher in Long Beach, Santa Barbara, Glendale, and Palm Springs. I have had experience as a long term substitute in Senior English for a year at Palm Springs High School, also in Palm Springs, I did six months as a Special Education teacher at Cree Middle School. While I was in Glendale, I worked a year at Allen Continuation High School teaching English and Social Studies. I have had extensive experience preparing lesson plans, grading papers, helping students understand subject matter and providing parents with information about their child's work in class.

A Little Bit About Me...

I began my career as an interior designer with a BA in Fine Arts and Certificate of Design. My love for learning brought me to earn a Master's Degree on scholarship in teaching. This degree prepared me to teach pre-k students to eighth grade. In order to teach all students I acquired an endorsement of English as a second language and a gifted endorsement. I have had the privilege of teaching my colleagues how to teach writing. My desire to teach for excellence has been rewarded both individually and to the learning community I practiced in.
