A Little Bit About Me...

I have always been driven to achieve a high level of excellence in education. I have earned two bachelor degrees in both Chemistry and German, which enabled me to gain an understanding of math and science from the reading of the original scientific papers in German;a better understanding of English(a Germanic language)also resulted. Working as an analytical chemist for the federal government for over 25 years caused me to improve my writing and English skills as a substitute teacher for over 12 years I feel I have gained enormous experience in working with all types and ages of children. And my certification as an electronic technician enables me to use technology to support teaching with technology.
I love teaching and working with all children. I believe all children can learn, but each in different ways. I am very familiar with the different types of learning styles of students ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BS in Environmental Science with a Chemistry minor. I also have a MS in Environmental/Soil Science. As a NASA scholar and Research Assistant, I taught undergraduate students Soil Science Lab Classes. I have tutored Elementary level reading and writing as a volunteer. I have also tutored Middle School level Math to several students. I am a substitute teacher in Louisiana and I am currently working on my teacher certification.
Because I am a very patient and detail oriented person, I feel it is best to adapt my teaching style to the student's learning style. I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Deaf Education. I loved working with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, but it was extremely hard finding a job doing that in my area. Due to that fact, I started tutoring as many kids from the local schools as much as possible and I loved doing it. That also motivated me to work on adding endorsements to my teaching license so that I can teach regular education as well. I’ve added Special Education (k-12) and Social Studies (7-12) and I am working on adding English and Math as well. I am excited about given the opportunity to work in the school system.
I believe that all children should learn no matter what their ability or disability may be. There should be passionate teachers in the field to be able to take on the responsibility of helping children reach their full potential. As an ed ... read more

I allow time for my students to be actively involved in their learning, to rehearse new learning, to reflect, to do something with their new learning, and to make concrete links between new and prior learning. I believe learning should be fun and enjoyable, and I strive to bring that joy to students everyday.
