In reality, I have been tutoring almost since I could read or write. The first tutoring job I held was in elementary school. After graduating from elementary school, I did my first two years of secondary education via home-school and stayed at our small, two-room elementary school in order to help the younger students. During my senior year of academy, I served as a Resident Assistant and Dormitory Tutor. All students can learn, but in different ways. I, for one, learn best by watching how something is done. I can read about it, or hear a lecture about it, but seeing it helps me understand the subject. This type of teaching would be done with movies, drawing or acting out the situation. In my teaching, I try to use all methods available to me to help the students learn and to use their creativity. I especially try to get students to work in groups and to share their work with each other. I find that pier groups provide the best help in understanding the subject matter.
