A Little Bit About Me...

Most of the subjects I have selected I passed with an 85% or better. I also did some tutoring in high school for other students. If I didn't learn it, I am most likely to figure out what is going on. It helps to know before hand what the lesson and subject is, just so I can remember what it is and to be more prepared.
I would prefer the library, just because it is big and open. The library in Tooele is a great example. It has rooms that can be used. I would prefer tutoring no more than 10 students at a time. If I can get a copy of the lesson before hand, I can be prepared.

Reading Comprehension is one of my top subjects!

I am a culinary school graduate and a full-time chef. As part of my chef-ly duties, I regularly find myself teaching cooking techniques and helping people become more comfortable in the kitchen. When it comes to writing, that I do more for my own amusement, but I have always considered myself more of a writer than anything else. Experience throughout school, work and personal experience dealing with the mentally challenged and dyslexia. my best friend had a son who was dyslexic and also he had ADD and I got him to trust me in babysitting and I taught him various things. I taught him how to read and write he could not accomplish that on his own. He was 11 at the time and I think with kids you have to be creative to teach them and I am very creative. I have also home schooled my elementary age children in all academic subjects. Currently, I am volunteering at a local elementary school in the STAR program tutoring young children in reading.
I have a daughter that is hearing impaired and has a langauge processing disorder. I also have a teenage son that is extremely bright, but a little lazy at school work. Teaching and watching them learn has shown me all children can learn, but they do it in different ways and at different speeds.
