The knowledge you need to succeed.

After I find out what the student desires to do with the knowledge, I show the student not only how to do something, but why. Also show alternate ways to do the same task to allow them to do the one that they are comfortable with. After showing, I have the student do the actual work, helping them through it. Real world examples are shown, concepts introduced, real skills practiced. We move on when student is ready to move on.
Graduated Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1983 with a Major in Visual Communications. Have worked in Advertising Agencies, Printing Companies, Fortune 500 Companies. Have owned my own graphic design business for 15 years. My teaching style is "one-on-one" for the most part. My first instinct with tutoring is empathetic: if I were struggling in this particular subject, what would be the best way for me to understand it? If this method proves ineffective, I would choose a different technique. I am a visual learner so I often teach visually. I feel it is my job to inspire a student to want to love learning in the most effective manner of doing so.
I graduated with a BS in theology because I felt it was interesting as much as it was challenging!
