Reasonable Rates for a Passionate, Experienced Teacher

I have been teaching Information Technology at both the elementary and middle-school level in private schools in Northern Virginia for most of the last ten years. In addition, I have tutored at high-school level in Chemistry and History. With both a Bachelor's Degree in History, and a Maser's degree in Network Information Systems, I am qualified to tutor in both the Social as well as the Computer Sciences, with an additional capability in Chemistry and Math at the advanced high school level.

Through earning my degree in biomedical science, I have accrued a significant amount of experience in both chemistry and biology. My passion has always been for the sciences, but I also minored in International Relations. I am well versed in all of the topics covered in my major and minor as well as several others. I believe that students of all ages respond to humor, honesty, and respect. Subjects in which that students have difficulty can be made accessible to them by demonstrating to them the humor in learning something hard and the fun of conquering the subject. Learing should be something students enjoy.
I taught 7th grade Language Arts for six years when I lived in Florida. I collaborated on the team that created the Orange County curriculum for teaching writing to the middle grades. This curriculum is still in use today. I worked for the Princeton Review as a tutor doing SAT preparation both privately and in a classroom setting.
