I have a bachelor's degree in history and a master's in teaching in elementary education. I have taught 1st and 2nd grade and have also tutored throughout the year and during the summer. Both students I tutored were 1st graders and I tutored them in mainly reading and math. One student was struggling academically and I really had to work with her on sight words, comprehension, etc. The other student was working above grade level and I had to fine ways to challenge him as well as keep reviewing old information. I also work in an after school program teaching reading skills to second graders. I have taken several Spanish classes and can read, speak, and write some.

Teaching and working with children has been a passion for me since middle school when I was still a child myself. My advantage of working with children this young is that I understand them better then and now as an adult so I can find an effective teaching style that will help them grow.
