A Little Bit About Me...

I completed my masters degree in an accelerated program. This required more credit hours in a shorter time, while working in the field of study. I have worked in many different schools and settings where the abilities range from gifted education to special education. I have conducted case studies, learning profiles, behavior plans, and other studies that require individual attention. I have tutored students in Reading, English, Math, and the Arts. During my undergraduate work my content specialty was English Language Arts.
Since I am fairly fresh to the market, I have learned many of the newer teaching strategies that benefit a wide array of students. My masters degree is in Inclusion which has taught me to reach students of both extremes of the spectrum. Once in a classroom I realized that I was meant to teach. I love working with students who are challenging and those who challenge me. I believe that I can become a better teacher only by continually challenging myself and my students. The key phrase “engaging students” seems less than what is required in the classroom. I want my students to be engaged but I want them to encompass and enjoy what they are doing as well. I love technology and new method topics; I have a very strong math and science background as well as excellent written and verbal presentation skills. I was a hands on learner and often use hands on methods to teach when possible. I have taught every level from kindergarten to college level and feel comfortable doing so.
